It's never too late to change!
A few tears were shed as 29 Berkeley County School District students joyfully accepted their Turnaround Achievement Award in front of their families and school administrators on April 10 at Westview Middle. This award honors students who have previously experienced challenges – both at home and at school – but made the decision to turn their life around.
These students are now excelling in their classes, both academically and behavior-wise, and are back on track to receive their high school diploma. The students were honored with plaques and gift bags presented by Katie Tanner, Chief Communications Officer, and distributed by Superintendent Dr. Anthony Dixon during a luncheon provided by the district’s Child Nutrition Services.
